- STEP 1: Click this Link to the IRS Tax Publication sites at the bottom of this page to download the required reading material. The Publications sometimes take a minute or two to download, so please be patient. For the Federal Questions you will need the Prior Year 2008 Your Federal Income Tax Booklet, (Publication 17), Publication 334, Tax Guide for Small Business and Publication 946, how to Depreciate Property. You will need the freely available Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print the Publications.
- STEP 2: Link to the Online Enrollment Form here. Be prepared to complete the Form. You will need a Visa, Mastercard, Discover Card or American Express Card for payment. Please make note of your self-selected User Name and Password, as you will need this information to login to the Course. You will sign up for the 60 Hour Qualifying Tax Course and complete Units 1 through 18. Do not complete Units 19 through 22 if you do not require California Certification. You can go directly to the course at PlatinumProStudies.com/elearning.
- STEP 3: Once enrolled you may start the Course. The Online General Federal Tax Exam consists of a total of 18 units. Each unit has 20 to 30 questions. Once a unit is started, you must complete it entirely in order to save your answers. Once you submit your answers, at the end of each unit, you will immediately receive a grade for that unit. A passing score of 70% or better is required to successfully complete each unit. Once graded, you will have the option of viewing any questions that were answered incorrectly. If you do not pass, you may retake each unit, up to a total of five times, at no additional charge.
- When you have completed the last unit of the course, email Platinum Professional Studies with your name and date of completion at PlatinumProStudies@msn.com and your Certificate of Completion will be sent to you within 3 business days.
