For the Federal Questions you will need the Prior Year 2008 Your Federal Income Tax Booklet, (Publication 17), Publication 334, Tax Guide for Small Business and Publication 946, how to Depreciate Property.   For the State Questions you will need the 2008 Personal Income Tax Booklet, the Guidelines For Determining Resident Status booklet, (Publication 1031) and the Supplemental Guidelines for California Adjustments, (Publication 1001). You will need the freely available Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print the Publications.

  • STEP 2: Link to the Online Enrollment Form  here. Be prepared to complete the Form.  You will need a Visa, Mastercard, Discover Card or American Express Card for payment. Please make note of your self-selected User Name and Password, as you will need this information to login to the Course.  You can go directly to the course at PlatinumProStudies.com/elearning.

  • STEP 3: Once enrolled you may start the Course.  The Online 60 Hour Qualifying Exam consists of a total of twenty-two units.  Each unit has 20 to 30 questions.  Once a unit is started, you must complete it entirely in order to save your answers.  Once you submit your answers, at the end of each unit, you will immediately receive a grade for that unit.  A passing score of 70% or better is required to successfully complete each unit.  Once graded, you will have the option of viewing any questions that were answered incorrectly.  If you do not pass, you may retake each unit, up to a total of five times, at no additional charge.

  • When you have completed the last unit of the course, and all previous units are complete click the "Go Back" button on the unit 22 grading page (the page that gives you your unit score). Next, click the blue arrow button. You will then be navigated to a page, with a header reading "TAX 60 Print Certificate of Completion", click the blue arrow again when on this page. Next, navigate to the home page of the e-learning site. Click the sea-green color course button, and then scroll-down to the option "TAX 60 Print Certificate of Completion", click on this. You will then be notified of your certificate of completion being sent to you via e-mail. Within 30 minutes you will receive your Certificate of Completion.  If you do not receive your Certificate, check your "Junk" or "Bulk" e-mail file - it may be there.  Please Note:  Allow three to five business days before registering with CTEC to allow updating of your file.  Platinum Professional Studies reports the completion of the Course to CTEC electronically, which allows you to go to www.CTEC.org and renew your registration online.
